Our vision here at First Baptist Florien, we pray, reflects God’s purpose for the world: saving a people through Jesus Christ so that they might know him, love him, and call others to follow Jesus Christ so that they might know him, love him, and call others to follow jesus Christ in all of life. To put it succinctly, we believe we must be people who oby the Great Commandment and carry out the Great Commission. Thus, our aim is to be a people who:

 

1.Know and love God.

2.Grow in their discipleship and love for one another.

3.Go in obedience to make disciple-making disciples among all the nations.

 

We believe that the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is crucial for spiritual growth and transformation. As Jesus said, we are sanctified by the truth of God's Word (John 17:17). We come to know Jesus, deepen our faith, and disciple others through the Word. Any lasting positive change in the church will result from the Holy Spirit working through the Word, which revives and fulfills its purpose (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Isaiah 55:10-11). Thus, we emphasize preaching and singing the Word weekly, as it is essential for true transformation.
